"For the first time, the Lithuanian FrameRunning Federation has opened its doors to host a FrameRunning camp and competition in Druskininkai, Lithuania. We sat them down to talk a bit about what to expect from the camp and competition.

What is the goal of the camp?

By organizing this camp, we aim to draw the attention of the sports community, the general public, people with disabilities, and their families to the importance of fostering inclusion and independence among people with severe mobility impairments. We aim to create a safe, non-discriminatory space that fosters trust, support, encouragement, and empowerment through Frame Running activities and the promotion of EU values.

We are organizing this camp and competition to provide more opportunities for Lithuanian athletes to stay motivated, connect, and meet others. We also want to invite athletes from other countries to get to know each other better, form friendships, share experiences, and explore the town of Druskininkai.

Another goal is to improve our own skills in organizing international events. Inspired by the excellent example set in Copenhagen, we want to create opportunities for those Lithuanians who are unable to attend the Copenhagen camp.

What are you most looking forward to at this camp?

Frame Running is a relatively new sport in Lithuania. We aim to show that it is not just a sport, but also a strong community. We want to motivate others and raise awareness.

We welcome all athletes with an international T71 or T72 classification who compete using a Frame Runner, both Lithuanian and international participants. Athletes who have not yet been classified will compete in the Open class.

As this is our first international event, we will limit the number of participants. However, we aim to provide the best possible conditions, including accommodation and facilities located directly at the sports complex.

What does this camp mean for the development of Frame Running in Lithuania?

For Lithuania, this camp and competition will increase the visibility of FrameRunning both nationally and internationally. It will also help strengthen relationships with other countries.

We are especially interested in building closer ties with Latvia and Estonia, as they are also in the early stages of developing Frame Running. In the future, we hope to organize a Baltic States competition together with other countries.

Is there anything special in Lithuania that you would like to showcase?

Above all, we want to highlight the strong sense of support among all participants.

Druskininkai is a beautiful and cozy town. Participants can look forward not only to a great sports program, but also to cultural activities, exploring the town, and experiencing Lithuanian cuisine and traditions. Don’t hesitate to register and come visit us!

...

Thank you to Ausra and the Lithuanian FrameRunning Association for taking the time to speak with us. We hope you have a fantastic camp!"
